What good have you created in the world today that wasn’t there before?
In a world too big for my human hands, in a global society too fractured for my little resources to mend, what good have I created today?
Some will throw up their hands and wail and rail and kick someone who cannot kick back. Some will bury their souls in the sinking sand of meetings and events and gatherings and the many-splendored trappings of the all-mighty schedule.
Still, some will grieve for a moment before realizing that good can begin with them; that political forces are neither the root of all evil nor the cream that rises to the top but some other something belonging to society itself – indeed, a human creation; that the human capacity for creation of good is necessarily infinite; that we needn’t wait for someone else to suggest the answers.
And the question remains: what good shall we create today?
