Moon Man and Wolves
- Originally posted on a 6s community, March 3, 2010 at 2:26pm
The man in the moon played a song for me, and the elegant tune was marred by the baneful howl of yesterday’s wolves. The pack calls out through the deepening night for honor, for terror, for remembrance. The moon man cares not for yesterday’s failures or today’s fears; his song is of hope for tomorrow. For he plays toward the face of tomorrow’s sun, teasing the nuanced frailty of future from the glowing orb, pausing only once in a while to rest against the dark canvas pricked by gleaming bodies of animate solids and liquids and gases. Still, I would not hush the wolves, those temperamental creatures, those demons of past regret, those paralyzers of present peace. It is the wolves that keep the moon man honest.
