More Relaxed Bio
I was born and raised in Oklahoma. Though I’ve left for short periods, I’ve always called Oklahoma home. But Oklahoma is really my second home. For me, Oklahoma implies family and house and work and church. All of which is changeable and changing.
Stories are my first home. From the earliest I can remember to this day, I feel most at home in stories — mine and others’. I try to share that feeling, of being at home in a story, with everyone.
My husband, Dearheart on this site, works in a world of numbers and accounting. My three children, known here and elsewhere online as Eldest, Middling, and Third, are teens and, as a friend says, moving toward the front door. Our dog Cara was well on her way to the status of obedient companion when the pandemic saw her somehow less trained and more spoiled. Our lives are sometimes loud, sometimes quiet, and always an adventure we keep choosing.
Curiosity saves lives. It saved mine. I follow my curiosity into stories, fictional and otherwise. It leads me out of my own thorn bushes and into new fields ripe for exploration. This place–this site–is the home in which I chronicle that journey of exploration in a shared venue.
