Have you ever experienced beautiful pain?

Beautiful Pain

The most inalienable pleasures originate in beautiful pain. You only know it if you know it, because you don’t know what you don’t know. If the whispered words or the rooftop shout of “beautiful pain” stirs nothing within you, my sympathies. Pain can be exquisite, seared into mind and love and lust alike, torn from time, and abounding in forward momentum.

Do not romanticize ugly pain: abusive, demeaning, selfish, derivative, insatiable, base, teeming from cancerous cells or people or places or whole systems.

For, when the beautiful pain attends you, and I hope it has and will, romantics will not be heard, platitudes will not have voice, vanity will be shut away, malice will have no mark, pleasure will come into her own and defy you.
