Soldiers Without Heads and So Much Surplus

Reaffixing a head to a soldier of some such, I plunged into the wellspring of deep and arcane thought. What if we are as pliable as plastic; what if someone reaffixes my outward veneer to a core of the molded stuff and that is why my neck aches ever so much in the morning.
And, again, I replace an arm, an errant leg, and I submerge in the warm waters of purposeless reflection. What, do you suppose, might we do when we truly become a replaceable society? If you upgrade your legs, could I have your leave overs, which are certainly more pristine than my own? Tired of my own weary and laden mind, might I try yours on for size and heft?
