Blistering

This was a love letter to myself as I sought to see things from a child’s point of view.

Blistering

When you shout, my ego blisters, because you are my protector and my safe place.

When you scold, my spirit blisters, because you are my great encourager, my love-no-matter-whater.

When you spank, my mind blisters, because you hit when you tell me not to, because you offer only paradox.

When you screw up your face with that look of disgust, my soul blisters, because you are my place of high esteem.

When you rage, my heart blisters, because you are my still spot to speak in heart whispers.

When you discipline, when you truly discipline, the space between us blisters and falls away, leaving us to bask in the afterglow of trust.
